A little bit about Mike

Originally from the great city of Chicago, I now live in Tampa, FL with my wife and two kids. I work from a home office outside my main house, which (usually) keeps things quiet enough to code in peace.

I worked in marketing and sales in the earlier part of my adulthood. And then I taught myself programming. I was advised that the hardest language to learn as a beginner was C++. So I started with that, because I wanted the challenge, staying up until 2am for months reading books and writing code. I was hooked.

From there I've picked up a number of languages and frameworks, but my current thrills come from using Rust / Rocket for the backend, and Svelte for the frontend. I've swerved through .NET programming, spent a lot of time with PHP, Javascript/HTML/CSS obviously, and frontend frameworks, as well as Linux, server administration, DNS, and a number of other things.

I thoroughly enjoy the work I do, and I take pride to do things right for my clients. You won't oftent hear the word "no" from me, but you will hear "I can do anything." And then I'll make it true. That's how you learn.
